GEMS Girls ITI was inaugurated on 23rd Aug 2014. The inauguration service was led by Bro. Augustine Jebakumar andShri Upendra Kushwaha, Minister of State for Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Govt. of India cut the ribbon and openedthe ITI building.
The inaugural ceremony started with the arrival of the Hon’ble Minister Shri Upendra Kushwaha who was welcomed by Mrs. Rupalekha Jebakumar.Bro. D. Augustine Jebakumar welcomed all the guests and began the service with songs praising the Almighty God and he was joined by Dr. Ashok Kumar (Director of Missions) and Mr. A.P. Jeyaseelan (Principal, Girls ITI), students, staff & missionaries.
After the praise and worship, the Minister cut the ribbon and inaugurated the ITI. Then he was taken around the Campus and he interacted with the Staff & Students of GEMS English School, Dayasagar, GEMS School of Nursing & Hindi Medium School. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Auditorium which began with a word of prayer by Dr. Ashok Kumar and the programs were anchored by the Senior students of GEMS English School, Sikaria.
The Chief Guest and all the other guests were welcomed by Br. Rakesh Kumar (DCC/SAC Coordinator), Br. Anandan (Zonal Superintendent, B2 Zone) and Br. Daniel Murugan (Principal, ITI-Karwandiya).Choreography was staged by the students of GEMS English School. Followed which School of Nursing students presented a Dance Drama showing the difference between selfish & selfless service of the health sector.Bro. D. Augustine Jebakumar shared about the vision with which the Lord Jesus Christ brought him to Bihar and thanked God for His leading all these years. He also pointed out to the change that which is needed in the areas of valuingSamay(time),Sakshartha(literacy),Safayi(cleanliness),Sachayi(truth) andSukhi Jeevan(joyful life). He went on to show how the Lord Jesus has enabled GEMS to value & inspire these in the lives of students and people through all of its initiatives.
Exhibiting the love of God the girls of Dayasagar presented a choreography.The Chief Guest Shri Upendra Kushwaha addressed the students and all the participants. He laid stress on the importance of teaching moral values to the students, not only focusing on academic excellence and saying so appreciated the work of GEMS for already working in this direction.
Mr. A.P. Jeyaseelan, the Principal of Girls ITI thanked the Chief Guest, all the participants, the leadership of GEMS and the staff & students of all institutions and above all the Almighty God for His grace in enabling this ceremony. He also thanked those who contributed to the ITI’s establishment. The program came to an end with closing prayer by Br. T. Emerson (Central Regional Director).
The Chief Guest and all the dignitaries & guests were served lunch. GEMS Girls ITI trains girls in the two year course of Civil Draughtsman and one year course of Sewing Technology. Admissions for this academic year is going on and will close by 15th Sep 2014Pray for the Girls ITI that through this initiative the live of girls of Bihar and other north Indian States may improve and that ‘strength and honour may be their clothing and they may rejoice in times to come’ (Proverbs 31:25).
